Everyday Wow

… is what you feel when your work commute takes you by the Grand Tetons each day. Originally known as Teewinot, the indigenous name meaning “many pinnacles,” these mountain peaks have stunned visitors for a long time. Strikingly different from the Rockies because they have no foothills, they rise up steeply along the fault line from the sinking valley floor known as Jackson Hole. The Alpine, Conifer Woods, Wetlands and Sagebrush zones all come together here to make a very inviting home for all kinds of wildlife. Moose, elk, bison, bears, foxes, marmots, ground squirrels, chipmunks, eagles, herons and bluebirds we’ve seen, oh my! Plus many have new offspring right now. And wildflower season is beginning to emerge…

We have settled in the park campgrounds here for the long season and are working for Grand Teton Association, the non-profit partner of the National Park that manages their book/gift stores inside the visitor centers. Retail is part of our service work this year, as we help visitors find resources to enrich their experience in this beautiful place. We have enjoyed getting to know our team and the job is sure keeping us busy, but on the off days we get out in the park to explore. And wow is it an awesome place to discover each day!
